Wedding

"And now abide faith, hope, and love, these three, but the greatest is love."
1 Corinthians 13:13

Tomorrow, I'm going to the wedding supper and reception for a very close friend of mine from University. He's a fantastic person, and I'm looking forward to meeting his lovely wife for the first time. I'm pretty certain they were married earlier this year in Bangledesh (where she's from), and this is simply the Ottawa reception (his parents live here).

I decided to blog since I've had mixed experiences going to friends' weddings the past couple of years. Is it wrong that I ask myself how so-and-so ended-up with such-and-such, and if they'll have what it takes to be in the 50% of marriages that end in happily-ever-afters? I guess that probably shows just how jaded I am on the concept of 'true love'. Having said that, I truly wish each couple nothing but happiness...

There's also the question of who to bring to a wedding. I generally just settle on a friend, knowing I'll be comfortable with them. Since I'm usually "happily single", it's difficult to explain this concept to have to explain this to the bride and groom....who of course forget just how enjoyable single life can be.

Anyway, no deep thoughts to end this post with. Weddings are a joyous part of life, and when two people find their soul-mates (did I just throw up a little in my mouth?)....they deserve to be together. Seriously! :P
